Interreg V successfully completed
Stronger together in the Meuse-Rhine region
We recently welcomed Emile Roemer, Governor of the Province of Limburg, for a special occasion: the official conclusion of the Interreg V programme (2014-2020). During his visit, he expressed his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our team and all project partners.
Although the last projects will be completed at the end of 2023, our work behind the scenes has continued. We have assessed project reports, supported partners and ensured that all results have been correctly submitted to the European Commission. With the submission of the final administration, we are officially closing this programme.
More than funding
Interreg is more than a subsidy programme. It is a driving force for cross-border cooperation. The programme brought together partners from different countries to find joint solutions to shared challenges.
In recent years, we have worked together on:
- A greener and low-carbon Euregio Meuse-Rhine
- A smarter and more innovative region
- A more social region with opportunities for everyone
- Better cooperation and stronger governance across borders
These results show what is possible when regions join forces.
Looking ahead together
One thing is clear: cross-border cooperation is not a luxury, but a necessity. To keep Europe competitive, resilient and inclusive, we must continue to work together across borders.
We are building the future of our border region together. With new ideas, strong partnerships and the ambition to grow further. This chapter has come to an end, but the cooperation continues. There are many great things to come.
