HR Mergen SmartMeshLine (HM-SML)

The HM SmartMeshLine project aims to develop an automated machine that attaches insect mesh to aluminium window frames. Today, this step is still done manually, which is physically demanding, repetitive and highly dependent on skilled craftsmanship. By automating this process, the project improves working conditions by reducing strain on hands, wrists and shoulders. At the same time, the machine ensures consistent quality and optimises the cutting of excess mesh, significantly reducing material waste. Developed and tested jointly by HR Vliegenramen and Mergen in real production environments, the HM SmartMeshLine helps modernise insect screen manufacturing, making it more ergonomic, efficient and environmentally responsible.
