LUCET - Laser Cleaning Ultra-high vacuum pipes for the Einstein Telescope
The Einstein Telescope demands ultra‑clean vacuum pipes — far beyond what traditional energy-intensive cleaning methods can deliver.
Our cross‑border consortium LUCET is creating a smart, autonomous laser‑cleaning system that achieves microscope‑level cleanliness only with the power of light by using lasers.
Each partner brings unique expertise:
- Netalux integrates their advanced laser‑cleaning system and cleaning strategies.
- Isatec designs and dimensions the waste extraction system.
- SAC provides the cleanliness control software, sensor selection, and cleanliness validation intelligence.
- Cilyx ensures industrialisation and seamless deployment in production environments.
Together, we’re building a modular, industry‑ready solution for both UHV components and industrial pipelines, helping make the Einstein Telescope and piping industry cleaner, greener, and smarter.
