New Project Granted: SPF Governance

We launched the SPF Governance project. This project tackles an important challenge in our region. It will make cross-border cooperation between Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany more effective.

Every day, authorities, municipalities, and other public organisations across the Meuse-Rhine region work together. However, different rules, languages, and ways of working can make this difficult. As a result, decisions can take longer, and processes are duplicated on both sides of the border. This affects citizens, businesses, and public institutions.

SPF Governance will change that. The project helps administrations to build trust, analyse challenges together, and develop better ways to work across borders. This will enhance cross-border cooperation, especially for smaller municipalities.  SPF Governance will help seed new initiatives and help them to take root and flourish.

The project also features a special fund for small projects of administrations. This fund helps public bodies connect, share ideas, and set up joint plans and solutions. More than 120 administrations and organisations from the region will connect. They will work on real solutions for everyday problems.  

In the long term, SPF Governance will enable smoother, more sustainable, and more efficient cross-border work. You will find more information on SPF Governance in the project section shortly.
