The rules for Call 8 are out now
The new Interreg Meuse-Rhine Call for Projects is coming soon and will open on 21 September 2026. The deadline is 16 December 2026. The full application rules are now available in the Download section.
About this Call for Projects
This is a small, targeted call for €7 million in EU funding, so not every good cross-border idea will fit. The call is only open to projects that bring innovation into practice in one of these two fields:
- circular economy
- innovation linked to the Einstein Telescope
As it is all about bringing the theory into action, projects need to include SMEs in their applications. Only a limited number of projects (probably 3-4) can be selected. Find out more in the Subsidy Regulation.
One-step application
This Call uses a one-step application process. That means applicants must submit a full application straight away. There is no first step to test the project idea.
This will make the process faster and keep the timing short. It also means your project idea needs to be fully developed when you apply.
Selection
Be aware that this Call is following a tender procedure, not a first-come, first-served process. If your application is submitted on time by 16 December 2026, quality will be the key factor in the selection. Only the strongest projects that clearly fit the themes will be selected.
Financial
Projects can receive up to 60% EU funding. They can only use simplified cost calculations (Cost option 3): a standard scale for staff costs and an extra 40% flat rate.
Advice
Do you have a cross-border idea? Then contact your Regional Antenna early. Because this call is small and very focused, early advice can help you see whether your idea is a good fit before you spend time on a full application.
