The construction sector accounts for a significant amount of energy consumption and waste in Europe. The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in particular produce a lot of construction and demolition waste. In the Meuse-Rhine border region, it is particularly difficult to collaborate on the reuse of materials due to different regulations and a lack of cooperation.

The C2R (Choose to Reuse) project aims to improve this.

C2R is creating a digital marketplace where companies can easily buy and sell used building materials. The project provides practical tools, good examples and training for companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

In this way, C2R reduces waste, decreases the use of new raw materials and increases the reuse of building materials. This contributes directly to sustainable construction and to the European climate targets.
