Powering the Future of Green Energy Together
The Meuse-Rhine region is a leader in green energy. People here produce more clean energy per person than in many other places. There are also many investments in electric cars and shared energy projects. Still, not everyone can join in the energy transition. People who produce their own electricity at home with solar panels, called ‘prosumers’, often cannot take part in the bigger energy market. They miss chances to sell or share their energy, save money, and help build a greener community.
The MAS4TE project brings together the strengths of three regions: Wallonia, Limburg (NL), and North Rhine-Westphalia. Wallonia is strong in digital models for energy grids, Limburg in artificial intelligence, and North Rhine-Westphalia in energy markets and battery storage. Together, they are making a new platform where people can trade energy themselves. With advanced technologies like AI and blockchain, energy can be shared easily and safely across borders. Helpful chatbots guide users through each step.
MAS4TE primarily aims to support individuals living in social housing, who often face higher energy costs. The project tests how extra energy can be stored in batteries or shared, keeping the grid stable. This teamwork supports green energy, fair energy sharing, and closer regional partnerships.
