MAS4TE AI-based Energy Trading Workshop @ Maastricht

AI-based Energy Trading Workshop 21 - 23 October 2026 Maastricht University in Maastricht, the Netherlands

Scope: The increasing decentralization, volatility, and complexity of modern energy systems are driving the need for building intelligent trading mechanisms that are capable of operating autonomously in dynamic market environments. With this scope, AI (Artificial Intelligence) provides instruments to enhance energy trading through intelligent and adaptive decision-making, predictive analytics, and automated market participation. On this behalf, this Workshop addresses recent and future AI-based energy trading developments for building intelligent human-centred trading platforms for energy markets as part of the Interreg MAS4TE (Multi Agent Systems for Trading Energy on the Blockchain) Project. It does that by exploring Agentic AI and LLMs (Large Language Models)-based solutions that include strategies for negotiation, coordination, and market interaction among the agents, and assure an interoperable and efficient energy trading behaviour. Therefore, this Workshop aims to provide a platform for sharing insights and experiences of researchers and practitioners from this domain and build a community that further explores important directions in this domain.

Workshop Chairs: Dr. Ir. Clara Maathuis and Prof. Dr. Stefano Bromuri from Open Universiteit, the Netherlands.
