Cross-Border Industry 4.0 for Sustainable Production (CISP)

CISP supports small manufacturing SMEs in the Belgian-Dutch-German border region in making short-run production more digital, transparent and resource-efficient. By connecting injection molding and milling machines with an integrated ERP/IoT platform, CISP enables real-time machine data capture, improved production planning and predictive analytics. This helps reduce scrap, energy consumption and unplanned downtime, while making small-batch production more flexible and sustainable. The cross-border cooperation combines Kupron’s production and ERP expertise with production.AI’s know-how in IoT connectivity, analytics and automation, creating a practical model for modern, green manufacturing that can be transferred to other SMEs and regions in Europe.

Initial requirements and system specifications were defined, including key data sources, ERP/IoT interfaces and relevant KPIs. Early findings confirm that fragmented machine and planning data are a main barrier for SMEs and that real-time connectivity is essential for reducing waste, downtime and energy use.
