Industrial High-Current Welding Technology for Reliable Battery Production
INDUBATT-WELD advances a validated DC copper welding system by extending it to AC/DC modes for both copper and aluminium battery connectors. Three SMEs from Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium collaborate to deliver three integrated results: an extended high-current welding system (up to 160 A), the first certified NDT reference dataset for this welding process, and an intelligent inline quality management system trained on that data. Together, these results deliver the first SME-accessible, independently verified battery connector welding platform — enabling traceable, certifiable production for industrial, autonomous and defence-adjacent battery applications.
