Virtual Engineering & System-Level Simulation Platform for Custom Machinery (VESP)

Companies that build one-of-a-kind machines face a costly problem: the software that tells a machine what to do can only be tested once the machine has actually been built. Mistakes are found late, deadlines slip, and engineers spend weeks waiting. Big companies solve this with expensive computer programs – far too costly and complicated for smaller firms.

VESP changes that. Yukawa (Germany) and machine builder CTESO (Belgium) are creating an affordable digital workshop: a lifelike copy of a machine on the computer screen. There, engineers can try out and improve the machine's software before the real machine exists. Smart software learns from real measurements how machine parts behave – no complicated set-up work needed.

The result: faster projects, fewer mistakes, less wasted material and energy – and modern digital tools for small companies across the Meuse-Rhine region.
