An International Roman Landscape Full of Stories and Experiences
Between 2025 and 2027, 13 partners from the Euregio will work together to bring the Roman past to life. Via Via is a Roman Route trip where visitors will discover 9 Roman attractions across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. The project aims to offer visitors a unique journey through history, crossing national and linguistic borders.
Cross-Border Collaboration
13 partners from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany are joining forces to make this project a success. Among them are the municipalities of Maastricht, Simpelveld, Voerendaal and the cities of Tienen, Tongeren, Jülich and Aachen. Other participants include institutions such as Museum Zitadelle in Jülich, the Gallo-Roman Museum in Tongeren, Centre Céramique in Maastricht, the Roman Museum in Heerlen, Via Belgica, and Erlebnisraum Römerstrasse. Additionally, the universities of Liège and Utrecht (Constructing The Limes) are involved as knowledge partners.
Entrepreneurship and Experience
This unique route offers more than just history. We are involving entrepreneurs who will translate Roman stories into unique projects. Think of local products, handcrafted souvenirs, and culinary experiences. Collaboration with touristic experts and the universities of Utrecht and Liège ensures a historically accurate and economically impactful experience.
