Towards a healthy and strong future in the Meuse-Rhine region

The Meuse-Rhine region faces major challenges. Climate change, pollution, loss of biodiversity and approaching new plant diseases put pressure on our living environment and agriculture. These problems do not stop at the border. That is why cooperation is urgently needed in the Meuse-Rhine region.

This project is working towards a sustainable future with less reliance on fossil-based raw materials and greater use of plant-based waste streams and renewable materials. The focus is on terpenes: valuable compounds derived from plants that can be used for bio-based innovative crop protection and advanced recyclable bioplastics.

In this way, we utilise biomass more intelligently, make agriculture and industry more sustainable, and create new economic opportunities. By working together across borders, growers, businesses and researchers are building a region that remains both prosperous and vital in the Meuse-Rhine region.
